Hampstead Removals Modern Slavery Commitment
Hampstead Removals is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in a manner that respects and protects human rights. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation within our own operations and throughout our supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks in connection with our removals, storage, and associated services.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, nor any practices that deny workers their rights, dignity, or freedom of movement. This applies equally to our employees, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, and all organisations that supply goods or services to Hampstead Removals.
All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting this policy and for ensuring that our working practices uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. Any breach of this policy by our staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Where suppliers are found to be in breach, we will take appropriate steps, which may include suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Hampstead Removals provides removal, packing, and storage services, operating through our directly employed workforce supplemented by approved subcontractors and vetted suppliers. Our supply chain primarily consists of providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, and labour support services.
We recognise that certain parts of the logistics and labour supply sectors can carry a higher risk of labour exploitation. We are committed to assessing these risks on an ongoing basis and to working only with reputable partners who share our commitment to ethical employment practices.
Supplier Standards and Audit Measures
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold labour standards that are consistent with our own values and legal obligations. As a condition of ongoing business, we require suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking and that they comply with applicable employment, health and safety, and human rights legislation.
We conduct proportionate due diligence and supplier audits, focusing on areas of higher risk. Our approach may include requesting information on recruitment practices, worker documentation, wages and working hours, and health and safety arrangements, as well as on the use of any subcontracted labour. Where necessary, we may request additional documentation, conduct site visits, or require corrective action plans.
If a supplier fails to meet our requirements or refuses to engage in improving standards, Hampstead Removals reserves the right to reduce, suspend, or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
We encourage all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise any concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected with Hampstead Removals. Concerns may include indicators of forced labour, exploitation, unsafe or degrading working conditions, or misuse of recruitment fees.
Reports can be made confidentially to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting mechanisms. We will investigate all reports promptly, sensitively, and, where possible, on a confidential basis. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, regardless of whether it is ultimately substantiated.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks by providing relevant staff with training and guidance on recognising warning signs, understanding reporting channels, and applying our zero-tolerance policy in practice. We also communicate our expectations to key suppliers so that they understand the standards we require.
We are committed to continuous improvement and will use the findings from audits, investigations, and stakeholder feedback to strengthen our procedures and controls over time.
Annual Review and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by Hampstead Removals senior management to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with evolving legal requirements and best practice. As part of the annual review, we consider emerging risks, audit outcomes, training needs, and any reported concerns, and we update our policies and procedures where necessary.
By approving this statement, Hampstead Removals confirms its ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of its business and supply chains. This statement applies to the current financial year and will be replaced or updated following each annual review.
